| | Sometimes, you just gotta make some effort to get out of your comfort zone and see where it takes you. For me it was catching 2 trams and heading off to the North Balwyn tram 48 depot, which is a good half an hour from my place.
My Tuesday started off like any other day, a late rise and breakky when I should) be having lunch. Me gal Brenda called to ask me to go over to her place and chill, I said yes but I was hesitant about the long tram ride and the long walk to her house. Took me ages to get out of the house but when I finally did, I felt good about the day. I was excited that it would just be a girls' night in with fake tanning and doing nails in store. And so when I finally got there, it was what it was (us girls doing our thang in our underwear, prancing around and having a good gab). Such bliss didn't last for very long when Brenda announced that we were going to the movies with a bunch of boys (ewww, boy germs!!! ) and a few girls. Ended up seeing Wolf Creek, which I was really excited about because I LOVE slasher/horror films and have been wanting to catch it since I dunno when. Being a little bit let down by the film and having my two girlfriends opt for an early night meant that I pretty much followed a bunch of people I didn't know to Princes (you know, the fobby pool place in Carnegie/Murrumbeena) so I didn't have to go home so early. Boy does life bring you the best surprises when you least expected it to. The two girls who also came with for the movie were the most unlikely candidates for my choice of friendship material b/c for the lack of the better word, they are what us ABC's call "fobs", but sometimes when you are stuck in a space where you have no choice but be cordial to people, you find that you will either learn that these people are a) really the wankers you thought they would be or b) turn out to be completely amazing people that you really feel you can forge a real longlasting friendship with. Luckily for me, the heavens had it planned that it was going to be my lucky night and give me that rare gem of "b)" that occurs only once in a blue moon.
Tonight, we are meeting up for dinner and going out on the town... Funny how things pan out. |
